Scott Carmack
Founder, CEO, & Portfolio Manager
Scott Carmack is the Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Portfolio Manager for Holbrook Holdings, Inc. Scott has been intimately involved with the capital markets since graduating with honors from Harvard University in 2001. He began his career at the JP Morgan Private Bank in New York City providing wealth solutions to high-net-worth clients. Since founding Holbrook in 2016, Assets Under Management have grown from $30 thousand to over $2.1 billion.
Michael Burns
COO & VP of Compliance
Michael Burns is the Chief Operating Officer and VP of Compliance for Holbrook Holdings, Inc. Mr. Burns started his career at Warner Bros Television in Burbank, CA working in budgeting, before moving to Portland Oregon in 2009 to join Fisher Investments. Mr. Burns served in multiple positions at the firm, eventually advising on over $100 million in high net-worth investor assets. In 2013, Mr. Burns joined a boutique Fixed Income firm where he worked in marketing and distribution. Mr. Burns earned a B.B.A at Gonzaga University.
Brian Zeck
President of Sales
Brian Zeck is the President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings, Inc. Mr. Zeck has over 19 years of experience, starting his career at Barclays Global Investors, now part of Blackrock in 1999. Mr. Zeck is responsible for creating and implementing a strategic sales process designed to grow the brand awareness of Holbrook Holdings Mutual Funds throughout the financial advisory, RIA and Institutional community. Over the last decade Mr. Zeck has been instrumental in growing distribution, sales teams and assets for mutual funds across multiple asset classes. Most recently, Mr. Zeck had the great privilege to lead the sales effort for a subsidiary of the famed energy investor T. Boone Pickens. Mr. Zeck earned a B.S. in Finance from San Diego State University.

Ethan Lai
Porfolio Manager
Ethan Lai is a Portfolio Manager for Holbrook Holdings, Inc. Prior to joining Holbrook, Mr. Lai was an Associate Director at CSG Investments, Inc., a subsidiary of Beal Bank, in Dallas, TX, running a team focused on secondary fixed income investments. Mr. Lai began his career in investment banking at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey (now Truist) followed by a role at Goldman Sachs in their investment management division in Atlanta, GA. Ethan graduated in 2012 with a degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
Dan Toomey
Portfolio Manager
Dan Toomey joined Holbrook Holdings in 2024 and serves as Portfolio Manager. Prior to joining Holbrook Holdings, Inc., Mr. Toomey was Senior Trader for the multi-strategy hedge fund Millennium Management. Before that, Mr. Toomey was Senior Portfolio Manager at Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS). During his 8-year tenure managing roughly $4 billion in fixed income securities at TCRS, Mr. Toomey was ranked the #1 Corporate Bond portfolio manager in the U.S. among pension funds with >$10 billion in assets. Mr. Toomey graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wake Forest University in 2001 and he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Eric Strom
CCO & VP of Operations
Eric Strom is the Chief Compliance Officer and VP of Operations for Holbrook Holdings. Mr. Strom started his career in 2008 in London, England in financial services operations before moving to Portland, Oregon in 2009 where he held multiple positions at Fisher Investments. Mr. Strom has spent the past 10 years as Director of Operations for an ecommerce startup in Portland, OR. Mr. Strom earned a BS degree in International Business at Washington State University.

Dan Merrill
Vice President of Sales
Dan Merrill is the Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. Mr. Merrill is an accomplished sales leader with over 25 years of experience devising and executing revenue growth and sales/talent acquisition strategies for his clients in the Finance, Life Science and High Tech industries. Dan joined Holbrook Holdings after 20 years of successfully launching and exiting numerous talent acquisition firms. Mr. Merrill earned a BA in Communications from Washington State University.
Brandon Boyzuick
Vice President of Sales
Brandon Boyzuick is the Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. Mr. Boyzuick started his career as a financial advisor with Equitable Advisors in Dallas, TX, where he specialized in working with high-net-worth clients and business owners, and successfully grew his practice to over 100 clients during his 4+ years as an advisor, while also joining the leadership team to mentor a group of 10 new hires. Brandon joined Holbrook Holdings to help drive sales growth within several states in the southern US. Mr. Boyzuick earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of Oklahoma.
Andy Schmidt, CIMA
Vice President of Sales
Andy Schmidt is the Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. He has over 20 years in the financial industry and began his career with Morgan Stanley in 2001. He transitioned to working with Invesco in 2005 and has also worked with The Vanguard Group supporting financial advisors. Andy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Liberal Arts from Bowling Green State University, in Ohio. Andy holds the Certified Investment Management Analyst® certification, administered by the Investments & Wealth Institute and taught in conjunction with The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Kevin Clausen
Vice President of Sales
Kevin Clausen is Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings, Inc. Kevin has over 19 years of financial services experience, most recently as the Head of Institutional Sales & Trading at D.A. Davidson & Co. Kevin was a member of the Equity Capital Markets leadership team, who successfully gained market share during his five year tenure in management. Kevin is a Portland, OR native where he has resided for the majority of his life. He has a BBA in Finance from the University of Portland and played college baseball.
Ziggy Zoller
Vice President of Sales
Ziggy Zoller is the Junior Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. Ziggy graduated from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and received a BBA in International Business and Real Estate. While at UGA, Ziggy was a student-athlete on the Track and Field Team and competed in the Decathlon.
Davis Moore
Junior Vice President of Sales
Davis Moore is a Junior Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. Davis is a graduate of the University of Georgia's Terry College of Business, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and an Area of Emphasis in Business Analytics. A dedicated athlete, Davis played rugby for four years at UGA and enjoys pushing his limits by running marathons.
Brennan Stapleton
Junior Vice President of Sales
Brennan Stapleton is a Junior Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. Brennan graduated from Texas A&M University with a BBA in Finance and a minor in History. Previously, Brennan interned with an investment bank and a private equity-backed cybersecurity firm. Brennan joined Holbrook Holdings in 2024 and covers the Southwest and Rocky Mountain states.
Davis Moore
Junior Vice President of Sales
​Matthew Schmal is a Junior Vice President of Sales for Holbrook Holdings. Matthew holds both undergraduate and master’s degrees from Washington University in St. Louis’s Olin Business School. Receiving a BSBA in Economics and Strategy with a minor in both Computer Science and Anthropology during his undergrade. He also received his master's degree in Corporate Finance and Investments at WashU. During his time in university he competed on the football team playing linebacker, earning a spot on the all-conference team twice, was team tackle leader, voted team captain during his final year, and was an Iron Bear recipient (WashU all athletics wide weightlifting award). In his free time he enjoys reading and lifting weights.
